HT46R4AE – Holtek New Cost-Effective A/D Type MCU

The HT46R4AE is a new 8-bit Cost Effective A/D type micro controller. The device includes a fully integrated 9-bit Analog to Digital Converter, 4K of OTP Program Memory, 192 bytes of Data Memory, 128 bytes of EEPROM, 6-level stack etc. and is supplied in 44-Pin QFP, 28-Pin SKDIP, 28-pin SOP package types. The device will find excellent application in areas such as household appliances, automotive peripheral products and other intelligent controller based products. The cost effective structure of the device provides users with a microcontroller solution with an excellent price/performance ratio.

The HT46R4AE includes a Holtek 8-bit microcontroller core and a host of additional peripheral circuits which include a 6-channel 9-bit Analog to Digital Converter, which can be used to measure external environmental signals such as temperature, humidity etc. Additional internal functions include two 8-bit PWM functions, which can be used for motor speed control as well as up to 27 I/O pins, which can be used to interface to a wide range of switches. The internal Programmable Frequency Divider function, which can generate audio frequency signals, also enhances the device’s capability of forming microcontroller based systems.

For development support, Holtek supplies a comprehensive range of hardware and software development tools. Known as the HT-IDE3000, the system includes many useful features such as memory/register read and write facilities, hardware breakpoints with logical setups, full trace analysis facilities etc. as well as many others. This range of features ensures products designers have all the tools they need to for rapid and efficient microcontroller program development and debug.
