Basic Information
Question 1
What is the difference between the new HT70XX-1 series and the old HT70XX series?
Answer
The output voltage tolerance of the old HT70XX series is 5% whose smallest SMD package is the SOT89 type. The HT70XX-1 series has an enhanced output voltage tolerance of 3% whose smallest SMD package is the SOT25 type. All of the functional features are identical so the new series of devices can directly replace the older series.
Question 2
What kinds of packages are the HT70 series of voltage detectors supplied in? Answer
The old HT70XX series of devices is supplied in both TO92 and SOT89 packages while the new HT70XX-1 series is supplied in both TO92 and SOT89 packages as well as an additional SOT25 package type.
Question 3
What is the detect voltage tolerance of the HT70 detector?
Answer
The HT70XX has +/-5% tolerance while the HT70XX-1 offers a +/-3% tolerance.
Question 4
What is the operating temperature range for the HT70XXA-1 device range?
Answer
The operating temperature range for the HT70XXA-1 device range is from -40℃ to 85℃
Application Description
Question 1
Can the HT70XX-1 series of devices replace the present HT70XX series?
Answer
The HT70XX-1 series is fully compatible with the HT70XX series and can therefore be used as a replacement.
Question 2
For the HT70xxA-1, can the output pin, VOUT, be directly connected to an MCU I/O pin to implement a voltage detector?
Answer
Because the HT70xxA-1 output pin is an N-channel open drain output type, for this reason it can be directly connected to a microcontroller input. However a pull-high resistor must be connected to this pin.
Points to Note
Question 1
What will be the last order date of the current HT70XX series devices?
Answer
This date will be announced after the HT70XX-1 series IC is formally released. Please check for EOL (End of Life) information at the relevant section of the Holtek website.
